Today is Emergency Services Day, a day dedicated to recognising and supporting the heroic men and women of the NHS and emergency services who work tirelessly to protect our communities.

The day highlights the incredible work carried out by emergency service personnel across the country, while also encouraging the public to learn basic lifesaving skills and explore the many career and volunteering opportunities available within the emergency services.

We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Kernow Property Services, who kindly showed their appreciation for the team at Perranporth Community Fire Station by presenting us with some thoughtful gifts.

Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated by everyone at the station. Thank you for taking the time to recognise the work we do within our community.

We started the afternoon, visiting St.Stephens village fate, we got to chat to lots of locals and the children got to look around the fire engine and try on our kit 👩🏻‍🚒🧑🏻‍🚒 unfortunately we had to leave early and head out to a multi vehicle fire at a property near Carland cross.

Ourselves joined with Truro Community Fire Station Newquay Community Fire Station Wadebridge Community Fire Station Perranporth Community Fire Station St Columb Community Fire Station along with land owners worked quickly to control the spread of the fire and extinguish using BA (breathing apparatus) & HRJ (hose reel jets)

OPEN EVENING CANCELLED

Due to this spout of dry weather, there has been a significant increase in operational activity in the county.

Two of our three assets are currently deployed to the ongoing wildfire in St Just and therefore we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s open evening.

We will look to reschedule for later in the year. Thank you for understanding. From all at 2.3 Perranporth.

**Station Road**

There is deep floodwater along station road that is rising. It is impassable by car. Cornwall Council are in attendance. Please avoid and find an alternative route.
