On the 28th October in Penlee Park, join us for a tree-mendous day of tree based activities and crafts!
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to ID trees and other wildlife in the park, collect and pot up tree seeds, and learn about appropriate tree planting with the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
Creative souls can also see a demonstration of spoon carving, try out bark rubbing and even make their own besom broom to take home – just in time for Halloween!
Activities will run from 10am until 3pm. Activities are free to attend and all ages are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult). No registration is necessary - just drop in!

Pipsqueaks playgroup is back on Friday mornings during term time, from 9-11am at the Solomon Browne Hall, Duck St, Mousehole.

A friendly, welcoming group for babies, toddlers, pre-school children and their grown-ups.

Please help to spread the word. With lockdown, many families have missed the connection and support of groups like this.

As everyone is all to aware the last year has been really hard on all of us. Although we get a lot of help both physical and financially from various bodies the Flora Group has to do it’s own fundraising to have that extra bit in the pot. So we just thought we would let you know a few things we have in the pipeline when the restrictions are lifted and things become the new normal.
We have several events throughout the year held at Waves which are always full, great fun and raise a fabulous amount each time.
We hope before too long to hold a quiz night which also has a raffle ( so get your mastermind thinking caps on 😬).
The volunteers who you see out and about working tirelessly are also planning on a sponsored walk ( as most are keen walkers too). This will hopefully happen in June so look out for that.
Also about 18 months ago people started to sponsor me ( Claire) as I had signed up to do the Manchester Marathon. It was meant to be held April 2020, then October and now is going ahead 11th October 2021! Those who know me know I don’t do gardening so I do the admin and can’t really run 😂
As a group we have fun, support each other in anyway we can. We have become great friends because of the group.
So if you can’t do the physical stuff please support those who can. We all want our town to look fabulous and will do what we can to achieve it.

Hello
We know that Sir Humphry is looking a little green at the moment.
The Humphry Davy Statue in Market Jew Street is maintained by Penzance Council and has a twice yearly cleaning programme – the statue was last cleaned in early November 2020 and is next due to be cleaned by the second May Bank Holiday to coincide with when the hanging baskets will be put up by the Penzance Community Flora Group.
