Community Skip – Saturday 6th June

The community skip will once again be available on Saturday 6 June from 9:00am at The Carpark Fernbrook Road, Penmaenmawr.

It will remain in place until 11:30am, or earlier if it becomes full.

Please note:

* Access will not be permitted before 9:00am
* Vans, trailers, and commercial vehicles will not be admitted

This service is provided to support local residents in disposing of household waste. On recent occasions, the skip has filled very quickly due to large volumes being brought by vans and trailers.

🌊 Penmaenmawr Paddling Pool Update 🌊

We’re pleased to share that the Penmaenmawr paddling pool is expected to open from 4:00pm this afternoon, subject to the completion of the final water quality and safety checks being carried out by Conwy County Borough Council.

We know many local families and visitors look forward to the paddling pool reopening each year, particularly with the warmer weather arriving, and we appreciate everyone’s patience whilst the necessary preparation works and testing have been completed.

For information, Conwy County Borough Council has advised that extensive maintenance and improvement works have been undertaken across the county’s paddling pools over the past 12 months to prepare them for the 2026 season.

We also understand that the paddling pools at Llanfairfechan will open this afternoon, whilst Rhos-on-Sea is expected to reopen next week following specialist resurfacing and sealing works requiring a continuous dry curing period.

We hope residents and visitors enjoy the facility over the coming months — and as always, please help keep the area clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy

🎉 Penmaenmawr Town Council Annual Meeting 2026 🎉

At the Annual Meeting of Penmaenmawr Town Council held on Monday evening, Councillor Lisa Goodier was formally elected as Mayor of Penmaenmawr for the 2026–2027 Municipal Year.

Councillor Jack Sterriker Ellis was also elected as Deputy Mayor for the forthcoming year.

The meeting was very well attended by residents, community organisations, local businesses, delegates from neighbouring councils, and representatives from across the local community. We were delighted to welcome guests from organisations including Inner Wheel, Rotary International, local churches, voluntary groups, and representatives from Heidelberg Materials UK.

During her acceptance speech, Mayor Goodier spoke about her commitment to resident-focused decision making, strengthening governance, partnership working through initiatives such as “Pen in Partnership”, and supporting children, young people, and safeguarding across the community.

The Mayor also thanked Council staff for their dedication and hard work during what has been a challenging period for the Council, and thanked former Town & County Councillor Ken Stevens for attending and presenting the Chain of Office.

Penmaenmawr Town Council would like to thank everyone who attended and supported the evening, and we look forward to working with our residents and community partners throughout the forthcoming municipal year.

Penmaenmawr Town Council is delighted to recognise that local resident Michelle Bathers has been selected as a recipient of Maundy Money this year.

The announcement was made at the Council meeting on Monday 16 April by Deputy Mayor, Cllr Jack Sterriker Ellis, who offered his congratulations to Michelle for her outstanding service.

This honour, bestowed by Charles III, recognises individuals who have made a significant and lasting contribution to their communities.

Michelle’s dedication to both the Church and the wider community over the past five decades is truly remarkable. Many in Penmaenmawr will know her through her charity and church work, or fondly as “Aunty Michelle” from her time supporting the children of Penmaenmawr Playgroup.

We’ve even been able to share a clip of Michelle being presented to by the King, where he asked if she would be making the lunch — a fitting question, as many will know Michelle is an Anchor Volunteer at the Happy Eaters Luncheon Club, held for residents every other Monday at Maen Alaw Community Centre.

Michelle embodies what it means to be a true Penmaenmawr resident, and this recognition is richly deserved.

On behalf of the Mayor and Members of the Council, we extend our sincere congratulations and thanks to Michelle for her continued contribution to the community.
