**Just receieved from KCC** Emergency Road Closure - Bramble Reed Lane, Matfield - 10th September 2026 (Tunbridge Wells)

It will be necessary to close Bramble Reed Lane, Matfield from 10th September 2026 for up to 5 days.

The road will be closed outside 1 Holly Villas.

The alternative route is via Bramble Reed Lane, B2160 Maidstone Road, Chestnut Lane, Foxhole Lane, Bramble Reed Lane, and reversed.

This is to repair a leaking stopcock to be carried out by South East Water.

**Shared by KCC** Southern Water Services - Temporary Road Closure - Romford Road, Pembury - 10th September 2026 (Tunbridge Wells District)

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Southern Water Services, it will be necessary to close part of Romford Road, Pembury, from 10th September 2026 with estimated completion by 10th September 2026.

Romford Road, Pembury, will be closed from the junction with Heskett Park to the junction with Woodside Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Romford Road, Henwood Green Road, Woodside Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow heavy jet and CCTV works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Southern Water Services.

Join your local Beat Officer for a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Walk & Talk event in the community.

📍 Location: Five Oak Green Recreation Ground, Tonbridge, TN126RD
📅 Date: Wednesday 16th September 2026
🕒 Time: 17:00

This is an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have about personal safety, anti-social behaviour, poorly lit areas, or locations where you feel vulnerable. We want to hear directly from residents and work together to make our communities feel safer for everyone.

During the walk, officers will provide practical advice and education on personal safety, including steps you can take to reduce risk and increase confidence when out and about. We will also be offering a range of personal safety equipment to individuals who may find themselves walking alone at night or in situations where they feel unsafe or at risk.

Whether you have a specific concern to raise or simply want to learn more about staying safe, we encourage you to come along and speak with your local policing team.

We look forward to meeting you and hearing your views on how we can continue to make our community a safer place for everyone.

⚠️ Where has the village sign gone?

Some residents may have noticed that the village sign has temporarily been removed. This is because it has suffered damage and requires repair work.

The sign is being assessed and the necessary work carried out before it is reinstated. We look forward to seeing it back in place as soon as it is ready.

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Openreach, it will be necessary to close part of Middle Field, Pembury, from 1st September 2026 with estimated completion by 3rd September 2026.

Middle Field, Pembury, will be closed between property number 1 and property number 4. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for any through traffic. Access will be maintained where it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow ducting works to be carried out, works are undertaken by Openreach.
