It is apparent from our research that Peacehaven and the surrounding areas are lacking a suitable entertainment facility for children. This is something that we feel passionate about and can change. After travelling around and visiting many soft play areas it became evident that no matter how big or small the play frame, that the atmosphere was always almost identical ‘A bright warehouse with a pl
ay structure and some seating for adults’. We feel that there are two main factors that create a good soft play facility and these are;
∙ exercising children’s imagination to give them an enjoyable experience.
∙ make sure that the parents and carers are comfortable and can also enjoy visiting the facility. This is where Tearawayz can make a difference. Our concept is to create a soft play facility but with a unique difference. With special techniques we will be able to change the theme of the unit on a regular basis with at least 1 seasonal theme planned for each calendar month, plus additional themes to be added throughout the year. This will keep the ‘feel’ of the unit fresh, dynamic and will help maintain a different experience nearly every visit. As important as it is to make sure that the children are having fun experiencing the play frame, it is also important to make sure that parents and carers don’t feel overwhelmed by the experience. To combat this, all our theming will be positioned to not impact on these areas. With access to free WIFI, hot and cold drinks and good food, parents and carers will be able to relax whilst their child has a completely different experience. Parties will also be catered for in three party rooms, and can be customised and
themed as necessary and individually from the main play frame area. The party areas will have half height walls to keep the party individual, but without feeling segregated from the main unit
Within school times Tearawayz plans to open to parent and toddler groups. This will give younger children who may normally feel intimidated by older children a chance to enjoy the facilities. Parents will be able to play with their children in the play frame or simply share a coffee with other ‘new’ parents. Although the experience is going to be completely unique compared to traditional
soft play areas, Tearawayz will aim to be affordable to local families.
