I've decided to re-ignite this page again for those who are interested, to help our native species in our rivers as we seem to have several non native species now and it is causing havoc with our native wildlife. As some of you may know I have been having big problems recently with what we believe is a mink. It has killed two of our chickens in the last week so we are on high alert and hoping we can trap it soon before it comes back for the rest. I have not seen water voles here for at least a year and a moorhen had several little ones recently but I fear they are now gone too... Mallards like Lucky, swim by with a little brood and then you see them slowly disappearing although I know this is common and not necessarily a mink... I have learned a lot today about mink and their habits etc.. and with the help of Nick who has advised and set up for us and the Suffolk Wildlife Trust I am hoping we can solve the problem with a mink raft trap, which was delivered today...fingers crossed..
