Here’s my speech from this weeks Assisted Dying Debate at the Stage 3 at the Scottish Parliament.

I make no apology for it being highly emotional as it was straight from the heart.

I believe that the majority of my constituents have the same views as myself on this matter.

It’s not easy to be so openly emotional like this in public and for many of us the result of the vote is extremely disappointing.

I will add that there are some really strange commentators in the media that are part of the political bubble who seem to only see views through their own very personal opinions.

Personally, I’ve never been like that. I may argue my own point of view passionately but I respect those whose views differ.

If only we could all be a bit like that.

I’ve no idea what I’m going to say this week during the Stage 3 debate. I spent most of last week listening to some interesting views on Assisted Dying.

Not sure if I’m avoiding putting any words to paper because of how emotional it all is. I have a few things running about my head. But trying to sum up all of that into the 4 minute speaking slot we all have will prove difficult. ❤️

Scotland led the way on issues like the smoking ban and equal marriage – I believe it can show the way again, writes LibDem MSP Liam McArthur ✍️

Half a year ago, I promised we would open 15 GP walk-in clinics.

Some of them are already open, with more opening within weeks.

To end the 8am rush, we’re going even further - if re-elected, we will deliver 30 GP walk-in clinics all across Scotland.

On May 7, vote SNP. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Parents across Scotland have told us they need more support. The working day does not stop at 3pm.

A re-elected SNP Government will extend childcare from 9 months old to the end of primary school, 52 weeks a year.

Make it on May 7 for a Scottish Government on your side.

Good news that the First Minister listened and acted on the case I put for a GP Drop in Centre in Paisley.
