Another great organisation supporting breastfeeding in Renfrewshire.

We’re delighted that Renfrewshire Citizens Advice Bureau has also signed up to the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme this week.

They said: “We are proud to support the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme. Through our service, we work with families across Renfrewshire and understand how important it is that parents feel welcome, comfortable, and supported when feeding their babies. We are committed to providing an inclusive environment where breastfeeding is recognised as a normal part of family life and where parents can access advice and support without barriers.”

A fantastic way to mark the end Breastfeeding Awareness Week, helping make Renfrewshire more inclusive and supportive for mums and families.

Great to see St Mirren FC leading the way as a Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland venue.

Pictured are Lynsey McLean, General Manager, and Karin Pointon, Supporters Liaison Officer, supporting the club’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for breastfeeding Mums.

With support from our Health Improvement team, St Mirren are helping make it easier for families across Renfrewshire to feel comfortable and supported when out and about.

A brilliant example of local partnership in action - and perfect timing during Breastfeeding Awareness Week.

Great turnout at our Dementia Awareness Drop‑In in at Renfrew Health and Social Work centre last week.

Hosted by our Learning Disabilities Service to mark Dementia Action Week, the session brought together health and social care staff and local providers for really useful conversations and practical takeaways.

We’re continuing to build awareness of dementia and the RLDS pathway across Renfrewshire. It was great to see the commitment colleagues bring to supporting people every day.

Our Occupational Therapists also joined the Forget Me Not Café for an afternoon of music and dancing - a brilliant weekly group for people with dementia and their carers, supported by volunteers.

Happy International Nurses Day

A huge thank you to all our incredible nurses across Renfrewshire HSCP who make a difference every single day.

Yesterday, we brought colleagues together for a small event to celebrate nursing teams and also to reflect on the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Nursing Strategy, and the shared vision for strong leadership, high-quality care and working together across services.

It was great to have colleagues from District Nursing, Community Treatment and Care, Health Visiting and Learning Disability services all taking part.

Thank you for everything you do for the people and communities we support

After an incredible 47 years of caring for older adults, Karen Hannah is retiring from Hunterhill Care Home. Her colleagues and family celebrated her amazing career with tea yesterday.

Karen’s career began as a young table maid, learning from matrons, and grew into a lifetime of service across Renfrewshire care homes, including Newark House, Stanley, Cormie House, Castle House and, finally, Hunterhill.

Thank you, Karen - from all of your colleagues, past and present, wishing you a very long, happy and well‑earned retirement.
