What matters most to you?

Over the coming weeks, our staff will be having conversations with people who use our services, their families and carers as part of Your Voice Matters.

We're asking three simple questions to help us understand what's important to local people and what health and social care services should look like in the future.

Watch our Chief Officer, Billy McClean, explain more and why your voice matters.

As World Breastfeeding Week comes to a close, we're celebrating something that can make all the difference to breastfeeding mums: feeling welcome.

For local mums Naomi and Emma, Bernie's Cafe Deli in Bridge of Weir is one of those places.

A place where they can feed their babies, Tilly and Myles, without worrying about being judged. A place with a friendly welcome and staff who help make breastfeeding feel completely normal.

That's why they're helping shine a light on the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme.

Alongside Tilly's proud big sister Zoe and Bernie's Café team member Abbie, they're showing how local businesses can play an important role in supporting breastfeeding families in our communities.

Emma also spoke about the support she received from her midwives, health visitor and infant feeding team when starting her breastfeeding journey, while Naomi reflected on the support from her employer that helped her continue breastfeeding when she returned to work.

A huge thank you to Bernie's Café, Abbie, Naomi, Emma and their families for helping make Renfrewshire a place where breastfeeding families feel supported and welcome.

A warm welcome to On Target Gym, Paisley, who have joined the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland Scheme!

It's great to see another local business showing its support for breastfeeding mums in Renfrewshire.

By signing up to the scheme, On Target Gym is helping to create a space where breastfeeding parents know they're welcome and can feed their baby comfortably wherever they choose.

Ian Travers, Director of On Target Gym, said:

"Signing up to the Breastfeeding Friendly Scotland scheme has helped show our commitment to supporting local families. It's a simple but important way of ensuring breastfeeding parents feel welcome and comfortable in our gym."

A big thank you to Ian and the team for getting involved and helping make breastfeeding visible, accepted and supported in our communities.

We're now up to 196 businesses and organisations signed up across Renfrewshire.

Heading to university or college this year?

Following recent outbreaks of meningitis in the UK, the MenB vaccine is being offered to eligible school leavers and new students at higher risk of infection. The vaccine helps protect against meningococcal group B bacteria, which can cause meningitis and sepsis.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are running a programme of drop-in MenB vaccination clinics at the Piazza Shopping Centre in Paisley throughout the summer, with clinics continuing until September, to ensure you can receive the two doses.

The first clinics take place this week:

📍 Wednesday 8 July - 08:45 to 19:15
📍 Thursday 9 July - 08:45 to 19:15

We’re recruiting an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Hospital at Home service. It’s all about delivering hospital-level care to people in their own homes, helping them stay where they feel most comfortable while still getting the support they need.

You’ll be working closely with teams across hospital and community services, assessing patients, making clinical decisions, and supporting safe care at home from admission through to discharge.

If you’re an experienced ANP looking for something different, this could be a great fit.

Johnstone Day Centre said aloha earlier this month, when the team brought a wee bit of Hawaii into the centre for a themed week.

There was music playing, people getting involved in different activities, and plenty of laughs along the way.

Everyone joined in, staff and service users alike. It was full of energy. A lovely example of the kind of atmosphere the team create every day.
