Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust We provide mental health and community services in Oxfordshire & mental health services in Buckinghamshire

Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust provides physical and mental health and social care with the aim of improving the health and wellbeing of all our patients and their families. We currently run eight community hospitals in Oxfordshire, as well as providing mental health services in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and elsewhere. We also work in partnership with others such as GPs, local universities,

local authorities and voluntary organisations. If you or someone you care for needs to be admitted to hospital your care will be co-ordinated by a team of people and as close to home as possible. Our aim is always to work with you and your family to get you home as soon as you are well enough and continue to support you there.

✨ What is attunement?

Attunement is the ability to tune in, notice and respond to a baby’s needs—helping build secure relationships and supporting healthy development from the very start.
For parents and carers, this can be strengthened through approaches like Watch, Wait and Wonder 👀 – a gentle, play-based way to slow down, follow your child’s lead and better understand their cues.

👶 Suitable for babies and children aged 4 months+
💛 Supports connection, responsiveness and early communication

Our 0–19 service can offer advice on play, development and attachment to help families build these important early relationships.

How do bring new mental health treatments closer to patients in Oxford and beyond?

Today for Amanda Colston, Matron of our NIHR Clinical Research Facility: Oxford Health reflects on the people and infrastructure behind the research.

As Matron, Amanda oversees governance, the workforce, training and more to ensure that complex studies and trials run safely and to the highest standard.

She explains how early-phase and complex studies connect participants to researchers, while the knowledge generated helps improve care locally, nationally and globally.

If you’re considering taking part in research, your contribution matters.
