The WRA foodbank collection on Saturday will be the last before our summer break.
We won't run Saturday morning collections in July or August, so if you are planning to clean out cupboards or pass on extra items Saturday morning is the deadline!
We'll meet on Frenchay Road, by the postbox as usual, to collect household cleaning, personal hygiene and baby items, as well as non-perishable food. If you have donations to share they will be gratefully received by more vulnerable families and older people locally and in Kidlington via the Cherwell Collective, CIC .
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Message from the Summertown and St Margaret’s Neighbourhood Form

SURVEY OF TRAFFIC AND PARKING IN SUMMERTOWN 25-28 JUNE

The Neighbourhood Forum has commissioned an independent survey of traffic and parking in Summertown to help understand who uses the area and why, and how much parking is needed to ensure that it remains a vibrant and successful commercial centre for both residents and businesses.

The survey will be carried out by KMC Transport, and they will be present in Diamond Place and Ferry Leisure Centre Car Parks, and the shopping area on Banbury Road, on Wednesday 25th, Thursday 26th and Saturday 28th June. KMC are based in Cambridge but are very familiar with Oxford City, and have chosen these dates during school terms when traffic flows are highest.

If you are approached by one of their team do please provide them with as much information as you can to help them develop a picture of our community and its needs.

Please pass this message on to your friends, family, neighbours and anyone else whom you think might wish to know.

WRA Foodbank collection will be by the Frenchay Road post box as usual on Saturday (January 18) We'll be there 10.30-11.30 am collecting donations for Cherwell Collective to help them support vulnerable people in North Oxfordshire.
Household cleaning, personal care, period products and baby items are all particularly welcome. The more usual food-bank non-perishable food items are always helpful, of course. Canned vegetables, and meals are very useful in this colder weather.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.

Hello Everyone,
if you invite a neighbour to join this Facebook group please remind them to answer the membership question. They will need to answer the question before they join the group.
Members decided some years ago that it should be a neighbourhood group, restricted to residents.

Many thanks

Happy New Year!
Tomorrow, Saturday, is the first WRA Foodbank collection for 2025.
We meet by the post box on Frenchay Road, and we have a sign so we are easy to find.
As well as the usual non-perishable food items we collect personal care, household cleaning and hygiene supplies for vulnerable families and older people, mostly around Kidlington. Baby items and period products are also hugely helpful for families supported by Cherwell Collective.
You can read more about their work here https://www.cherwellcollective.com/about-us/cherwell-larder/

See you tomorrow.

A few more details about Cherwell Collective. Our donations support vulnerable individuals and families.

They also run many other activities to reduce food waste and support communities and individuals. See below for a list of their mass food distributions over the holiday season. There is no way to know what they will have on any given day, but it is all available for anyone who can visit.
