🥧 Trader focus: Pieminister

Delicious pies, family roots and a big helping of good values and a new instant picnic hit!

Pieminister has been part of The Covered Market for just over 18 years now, when co-founder Jon Simon and the team took over the Hedges Butchers site. After starting out in Borough Market and Bristol’s St Nick’s Market, they were looking for another legendary foodie spot - and The Covered Market was a natural home.

Although Pieminister is now loved far beyond Oxford, it’s still proudly independent, family-run and built with real care. Jon and co-founder Tris are still at the helm, still involved in the kitchens, and still doing it “for the love of the game.”

This week also marks , so it felt like the perfect time to celebrate another proud business in the market. For Pieminister, that means everything from higher-welfare British sourcing to paying the Real Living Wage - proof that doing the right thing and making seriously good food can go hand in hand.

And now for the summer treat… Pieminister has just launched quiches in its Oxford café. Deep-filled, deli-style quiche with poppyseed pastry, free range egg and ham. Jon says they’ve “cracked it” - and honestly, we think this is your sign to go and try one.

We've had fun putting together a bit of collection of images of Pieminister over the years interspersed with mouthwatering photos of their new summer quiches, hope you enjoy it too.
