Acclaimed actor David Tennant narrates this video from the charity Playlist for Life, which supports people living with dementia, as well as their families and loved ones, through music.

All 44 of our libraries are registered as Playlist for Life Help Points, offering resources to take away, as well as a copy of '100 Years' —a collection of the UK’s top songs from 1915–2015—which you can browse in the library to help you get started.

Visit your local library to find out more, pick up resources, and begin creating your own meaningful playlist, or explore online at https://www.playlistforlife.org.uk/.

Oxfordshire has always had an incredible live music scene. Perhaps you were at the Jericho Tavern, when bands like Radiohead and Supergrass played before they hit the big time? And more recently, artists like Stornoway, Ride and Foals have continued that tradition.

But the story goes back even further…

In the 1950s and 60s, the place to be was the Pressed Steel Social and Athletic Club in Cowley. This photo shows The Silver … band taking part in a ‘Twist and Shake’ contest in the Club Ballroom in June 1964.

* Do you remember this venue – or know someone who does?

* Recognise the band, or have a story to share?

We’d love to hear your memories – or the stories passed down to you
With thanks to Oxfordshire History Centre for the image.
