🔴 Today Red Watch hosted some of our Fire Service veterans for bacon rolls, brews & most importantly☝🏼a chance to swing the lamp (reminisce).

💪🏼 Today two of our Firefighters (L-R Ruth & Christie) have started the epic 3 peak challenge as part of a larger team from Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service

🤞🏼 We wish them both & everyone else taking part the best of luck & hope the blisters hold off.

⛰️ The challenge is in memory of Martyn Sadler, Jennie Logan, and Dave Chester who sadly all lost their lives at the Bicester Motion incident last year (15th May). The team are also hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Firefighters Charity.

🟢🚒Yesterday, crews from Green Watch were pleased to welcome the Deputy Chief Fire Officer for a full day shift, providing him with an opportunity to ride the trucks again and see what we do on a day-to-day basis.

🔥Throughout the shift, the Deputy Chief took part in realistic Immediate Emergency Care (IEC) scenarios and a challenging Breathing Apparatus (BA) scenario, getting the chance to dust off the skills and try out the new BA sets we have now. The shift also included attendance at multiple incidents, including an alarm, a lift rescue, an RTC and a house fire.

It was a valuable opportunity for us to showcase the work we do each day while also gaining a greater understanding of the Deputy Chief’s role and responsibilities. Thank you for joining us and getting stuck in with the team!

👏🏻🔴🚘 A big thank you to everyone who donated & supported the Red Watch Charity car wash last weekend.

🌞🥵 On what was an incredibly hot weekend we raised £2792.78 for the Fire Fighters Charity, an amazing amount. Especially as we lost half or at times the whole watch whilst we continued to attended incidents including a lift rescue, an RTC, a fire in the open, small vehicle fire & an ambulance assist.

🤔 Now if anyone has any good tips on how best to deal with horrific T-shirt tan lines please let us know below 🫣😆

🟢Today crews from Green Watch recently carried out a familiarisation visit to explore the new state-of-the-art ventilation and fire prevention systems now in place at the new Chestnut Tower. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the technology and how it enhances fire safety and incident management.

As part of the session, demonstrations were carried out using simulated smoke, allowing crews to see the systems in action and better understand their effectiveness in a realistic environment.

A huge thank you to Proactive Fire Solutions Ltd for the informative tour, demonstrations, and detailed explanations throughout the visit. Opportunities like this are invaluable in helping us maintain operational knowledge and preparedness.🙌🏼
