🌟 Celebrating International Literacy Day 2026 🌟

On 8th September, we join UNESCO in celebrating International Literacy Day and its 60th anniversary.

Literacy opens doors to knowledge, confidence, opportunity and connection. This year's theme, "Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity", reminds us of the importance of ensuring everyone has access to the skills they need to participate fully in society.

Libraries play a key role in supporting literacy at every age, from sharing stories with young children to helping adults develop new skills. Pop into Oundle Library to find out more

Learn more about this global celebration: https://www.unesco.org/en/days/literacy

To celebrate, Oundle Library will have a drop-in bookmark making activity all day. Come in and craft yourself a bookmark for your next read 😊

Your voice matters - Help shape our approach to consultation and engagement

How would you like to have your say on local issues?

NorthNorthamptonshire Council are developing their first Consultation and Engagement Strategy and want your views on how they listen and engage with residents.

They’re looking at:

How we can make it easier to get involved

How we can reach more people

The best ways to engage with different communities

How we can better show how your views help shape decisions

Whether you've taken part before or not, we'd like to hear from you.

Share your views and help shape our future approach
