Every day of the year, your local air ambulance (Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland) is helping save more lives. Our critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of 10 rescue missions a day. We are supported by a Critical Care Car meaning that we can reach those who need us 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. We receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations to raise the £2,300 we need for each mission.

67 missions in just seven days.

Last week (12–18 October), Your Local Air Ambulance crews responded to 67 emergencies, bringing specialist critical care to people when they needed it most.

🚁 38 missions by helicopter
🚑 29 missions by Critical Care Car
💛 43 patients treated
🏥 23 patients taken to hospital, including four by air

Medical emergencies, including cardiac arrests, accounted for 53% of our missions, while road traffic collisions made up a further 20%.

Sunday was our busiest day, with crews responding to 15 emergencies.

And as the clocks go back this weekend, while many of us enjoy an extra hour in bed, our night crews will be working an extra hour, continuing to provide critical care when it's needed.

Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the emergencies we attended, and thank you to everyone who supports our lifesaving work. 💛

A heartfelt thank you to Zoey and her family, whose recent Sip and Paint fundraiser raised more than £2,000 for Your Local Air Ambulance WNDLR 🎨💛

Zoey fundraises in memory of her sister, Emma, who sadly died following an accident. She feels our crews gave Emma the best possible chance, and supporting our charity is deeply personal to her.

Alongside organising this wonderful event with her family, Zoey is also taking on the TCS London Marathon for us.

Thank you to Zoey, her family and everyone who attended or contributed. Your kindness and generosity will help our crews be there for other patients and families when they need us most.

What an incredible achievement! 🥾💛

Martyn Culley, from Willington in Derbyshire, has raised an amazing £12,786.47 for air ambulance charities by walking all 214 Wainwright summits in the Lake District.

The challenge took Martyn across some of the Lake District’s most demanding terrain, testing him physically and mentally — but every step had a purpose: helping support the lifesaving work of air ambulance charities across the UK.

Last week, we were delighted to welcome Martyn and representatives from Air Ambulances UK to our Nottingham heliport, where he presented the funds and had the opportunity to see one of our helicopters up close.

Thank you, Martyn, for taking on such an extraordinary challenge and helping make lifesaving missions possible 💛

70 missions in seven days, an average of 10 every day 🚁💛

From 5–11 October, our crews responded to a range of emergencies, bringing specialist critical care directly to patients.

Medical incidents were the most common reason for call-out, accounting for 39% of missions. Assaults and road traffic collisions each represented 16%, followed by falls at 9%.

Patients were taken to 12 different hospitals across the regions for further care — a reminder that every mission is part of a wider journey, from the first call for help to ongoing hospital treatment.

September by the numbers 💛

September was our quietest month of the year so far, but our crews still completed 247 missions, bringing specialist emergency care to patients when it mattered most.

🚁 114 missions by aircraft
⏱️ 46 hours flown
🚑 133 missions by Critical Care Car
🛣️ 3,500 miles driven

Medical emergencies were the most common reason for call-out, with 115 missions (46%), followed by 42 road traffic collisions (17%) and 22 falls (9%).

Leicestershire was our most visited county, with 65 missions, followed by Northamptonshire with 36. Derbyshire and Warwickshire each had 35 call-outs.

Every number represents someone who needed urgent help, and a crew ready to respond.
