Another fantastic fungi and foraging walk at Hunters Hill today led by the ever charismatic and knowledgeable Mark Buxton Kelly.

We saw plenty of different species and learned even more wonderful facts and stories about them.

We only have one more of these walks left in our programme this year. Do not miss out visit our website www.westlancs.gov.uk/countryside for more details on how to book on.

Lovely volunteer session in Coronation Park this morning cutting back the willow revetments along a section of sandy brook.

It was hard work in challenging weather conditions but the volunteers got stuck in and made a big difference to that area of the park.

We will continue our work to tidy and open up the less formal side of the park at Novembers session, come along and join us!

Our fabulous Volunteers absolutely smashed it this morning. 💪

This old fence line at Beacon Country Park was looking way past it's best and due a refresh. In 4hrs, Ranger Chris and the gang installed a new section of post and rail fence and a stile. Amazing work team - thank you 💚

When your site looks like a Bob Ross painting 🫶 🎨

Hunters Hill is probably our most peaceful countryside site. It used to be a quarry, but is now predominantly Birch woodland with a small section of Heathland.

We have a Fungi & Foraging walk there on Sunday 11th Oct. There's always a great range of Fungi on show here in the Autumn due to the symbiotic relationships that many Fungi have with Birch trees. There is just *ONE* place left for Sunday's walk - book via our website. 🍄
