I’m proud to support a very special charity event being organised by the DSRFC U10s coaches — a 48‑hour static bike ride held in memory of Raife Ellis, the Tavistock U11s player who so tragically passed away.
My daughter and her husband are taking part in this challenge. Both are RAF veterans, having each served over 12 years in the Royal Air Force, and they understand deeply the values of service, commitment, and standing together as a community in difficult times.
As a parent and grandparent, I cannot begin to imagine the pain of losing a child. What is truly moving is seeing a community come together with compassion and solidarity. The rugby community, like the armed forces, is built on shared values of teamwork, resilience, and support — and this event represents that spirit at its very best.
If you are able to contribute, even in a small way, please consider donating to this important cause and supporting a family facing an unimaginable loss.
Thank you to everyone involved for turning kindness into action.
