Royal Mail Delivery Office Refurbishment – Update

Following on from our earlier update about the refurbishment of the Royal Mail Delivery Office in Strabane, a number of people have been in touch asking when work would begin.

I can now confirm that works are scheduled to start on 12 January and are due to be completed by 20 February, with the timeline being weather dependent.

Will you be on the roads this weekend?

This year, 20 families have had their world shattered by receiving the worst possible news as a result of road collisions.

Road Victim Support Northern Ireland – Donegal have experienced the devastating loss of precious family members in such tragic circumstances. As they sign up to DfI’s Share the Road to Zero campaign, the family-led group reminds us of the importance of taking care on our roads.

URGENT SECURITY ALERT - STRABANE!

All residents please be advised that there is an ongoing security situation at the entrace to Evish Square at the bottom of Mount Carmel Heights/Bracken Hill.

Due to safety concerns, the entire road is sealed off and inaccessible for residents.

This is a major disruption for local people, vulnerable citizens, carers and workers.

This is a major inconvenience and I want to assure everyone that authorities are working quickly to resolve the situation as quickly as possible.

Please remain safe and avoid the area until further notice. Melvin is opened for people.

Homes are being evacuated and bomb disposal units are on the way.

I will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
