Volunteers Week!

Today at Oldham Library we celebrated our wonderful volunteers, these amazing people offer their time to help support Oldham Heritage, Libraries and Arts. We had some lovely treats and a brew and took the time to relax and really get to know each other, we have such an amazing community of volunteers!

From those who support our Speak English Together and Brew Biscuits and Banter groups to those who collect surveys for Gallery Oldham, those that provide digital help and those that keep our libraries and garden tidy, we thank you!!!

Volunteering is a fantastic way to meet new people, build your confidence, learn a new skill and is great for our wellbeing.

Coming to Story Fest this year……
HOLLY STERLING
We are thrilled to welcome the talented Holly Stirling to Oldham Library for this years Story Fest (Saturday 11th June, 11am-3pm)
Holly is a children’s author illustrator of English and Jamaican heritage whose work celebrates inclusive representation. Her books include Karate Kids, shortlisted for the 2021 Telegraph Sports Book Award, and Ballet Kids, featured in the ALA Rainbow Book List. Her latest illustrated title, Wednesday is for Wiggling, was long listed for the 2026 IBC Awards.

Coming to Story Fest this year……
BEN DAVIS
Our excitement is expanding faster than the universe as we proudly announce that Ben Davis will be joining our Story Fest line up.
Ben Davis is an award winning author of children’s books, and his latest title, Postman Planet, was recently named The Times Children’s Book of the Week. He lives in Staffordshire with his family — but for Story Fest, he’s rocketing over to us.
