These School Council pupils from Devonshire Academies don’t let the weather stop them from walking to school! 🌦️👣

Rain or shine, they’re setting a fantastic example for us all. Why not follow their lead? Every walk helps create healthier habits and cleaner air.

Who’s joining them? 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️💚

Air pollution is the biggest environmental risk to our health.

Reducing levels of harmful air pollution in our communities will have health benefits for us all, helping both children and adults live longer and healthier lives.

By tackling dirty air, we can also boost our local economy as breathing in cleaner air improves our productivity, reduces sick days and helps alleviate the burden on our NHS.

Many of the solutions that will deliver cleaner air, like improving public transport and decarbonising our homes, will also help us cut carbon emissions and protect our natural environment.

Air pollution affects everyone’s health.

It’s linked to a range of health problems throughout our lives – from premature birth and childhood asthma to heart and lung disease, diabetes and strokes in later life.

We may be exposed to higher levels of air pollution because of where we live, and children, older people and people with existing health conditions experience the health harms of dirty air more than others.

By coming together to take action on air pollution in our communities, we can help both children and adults live healthier and longer lives, boost our local economies and make our communities cleaner and greener.

Clean Air Day is just around the corner!

Cleaning up the air we breathe benefits us all, now and in the future.

By coming together to take action on air pollution in our communities, we can improve everyone’s health, boost our local economies, and make our towns and cities cleaner, greener places to live.

Save the date for Global Action Plan’s Clean Air Day on Thursday 18 June.

When Auntie Duck isn’t out in the community spreading the word about air pollution and the importance of clean air, she’s definitely having some fun! 💃🦆

Here’s a throwback to when Auntie Duck showed off her moves with an Irish jig on St Patrick’s Day. ☘️

A reminder that while it’s important to work hard and make a difference, it’s just as important to make time to smile, laugh and enjoy yourself along the way.

Happy Friday, everyone! Have a fantastic weekend and don’t forget to make time for a little fun too. 😊

The importance of clean air for children cannot be over-emphasised.

Cleaner air means healthier lungs, better concentration in school, safer playtimes, and brighter futures for our children.

Let’s protect the air they breathe today for a healthier tomorrow.

And just like that… Auntie Duck and Strider wrapped up an eventful Walk to School Week with visits beyond Sandwell! 👣💚

After their last stop, the duo continued spreading the messages at Belle Vue Primary School in Dudley and St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School in Wolverhampton✨

Auntie Duck stepped outside of Sandwell to encourage even more children and families to walk, wheel, scoot, and choose healthier journeys whenever possible.

And to everyone, keep walking. Every step counts towards healthier lives and cleaner air!

Strider… let’s do this again! 🤝💛
