Our calming corner in the nurture room ๐ŸŒฟ

The calming corner/room has a sofa, reading books, teddies, puppets, cusions, and a range of emotion resources to help and support children.

This is the room we also hang children's family photos in.

The lights get turned down for a cosy feel, and children are learning how to be calm and quiet whilst making the most of the space.

Fostering indepence In the baby nook this week ๐Ÿงน

We all know that rice plays gets EVERYWHERE, and despite all the fun and sensory benefits it provides, it is definitely one of the most difficult resources to clean up. It is usually found it every corner ๐Ÿ˜‰

The children love to help out with cleaning, and allowing them to do so helps to develop their independence and foresters their own identity.

It isn't perfect.

It often ends up making more mess, right after cleaning.

It still requires help and support

But, the learning opportunities are endless by just allowing them to have a go.

World turtle day ๐Ÿข

It has been a busy week with World bee and World turtle day to celebrate.

The child have been singing "i had a little turtle," looking and talking about turtles, where they live and exploring their environments.

โœจ We are delighted to announce that Little Feet Day Nursery has begun training as a whole setting โœจ

At the heart of our ethosโ€œa place of gentle guidance, where learning blossoms.โ€ ๐ŸŒฟ

We have created a calm, cosy, and nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Our practice already embraces many of the principles of Hygge and Slow Pedagogy โ€” following childrenโ€™s interests, adapting our days in the moment, and valuing meaningful interactions over unnecessary paperwork.

This journey is not about changing who we are but about deepening our understanding, strengthening our practice, and becoming even more intentional in the environments and experiences we create for children.

Hygge in the early years focuses on warmth, wellbeing, belonging, and creating spaces that feel comforting, peaceful, and joyful. Slow pedagogy encourages us to pause, be present, and truly value childhood โ€” giving children the time and space to explore, wonder, and learn naturally through meaningful experiences.

Together, we will continue to learn how to thoughtfully balance our environment, embrace nature even more deeply, nurture wellbeing, and create spaces where both children and educators can truly flourish. ๐Ÿ‚โœจ

Follow us along on this journey and see what we get up to ๐ŸคŽ

Introducing our tooth brushing scheme ๐Ÿฆท๐Ÿ˜

Over the next few weeks, all families will receive:
๐Ÿชฅ A toothbrush
๐Ÿฆท Toothpaste
๐Ÿ“– A helpful leaflet full of brushing tips, dos & donโ€™ts, and guidance to support healthy little smiles at home.

After half term, tooth brushing will become part of our daily nursery routine, helping children build positive habits that will last a lifetime ๐Ÿ’›

Good oral health starts early, and weโ€™re proud to support our little ones in learning the importance of caring for their teeth in a fun, safe, and encouraging way.

World bee day ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ

From looking at different types of bees, to the colours of bees, to where they can be found in nature, the children at Little feet have explored a variety of different activities throughout the day, both inside and outside.

Who am I? ๐Ÿชž

As our babies explore their reflections, theyโ€™re also beginning to build self-awareness, confidence, and a sense of belonging. These precious moments of self-reflection support emotional development and help children recognise themselves as valued individuals within our nursery family ๐Ÿ’›

At our nursery, we believe in creating โ€œa place of gentle guidance, where learning blossomsโ€ โ€” nurturing every child to grow, explore, and flourish in their own unique way ๐ŸŒฟ
