The American Bar Association Memorial, Runnymede

This memorial overlooks the Runnymede Meadows, the site where King John sealed the Magna Carta 811 years ago.
It was erected in 1957 by the American Bar Association, as the ideals of Magna Carta resonate through American politics over the centuries. It is influential to the American Constitution and was even cited in FDR’s inaugural speech.

Its tall white columns and calming blue etchings make for a commanding yet compassionate feeling memorial. Evoking the authority of the crown surrounded by the representation of justice and equality.

This Saturday is Magna Carta Day an important moment of pride for our community and reflection for the world.
Join us this weekend as we celebrate 811 years of equality before the law. There will be stalls, games, and food across both days.
