King's Birthday Flypast 2026

The King's Birthday Flypast will take place on Saturday 13th June 2026.

A large formation of military aircraft will form His Majesty the King's Birthday flypast. The flypast will impose restrictions in the vicinity of the North Sea, East Anglia, Essex and London, to overfly Buckingham Palace at 1pm BST. The dispersal will be to the West and North west of London over Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire.

Sadly we won’t be seeing the Vampire as they cannot deal with the rising fuel costs

Norwegian Historical Squadron Vampire 🇳🇴 has withdrawn from its planned UK airshow appearances this season, including RAF Cosford Air Show (Official) 🇬🇧 this Sunday.

The team has confirmed the Vampire will have to stay in Norway this year due to the challenging and unpredictable rise in fuel costs. They say they plan to return in 2027, while continuing adventure flights in Norway.

For RAF Cosford, this marks the sixth cancellation in a little over a week. We really feel for the organisers, who we know work incredibly hard behind the scenes to replace performers and keep the flying display as strong as possible.

Completely new for 2026, The Officer's Mess Cafe opened in June!

During the Airshow it'll be reserved for the use of our members. Membership of the Aerodrome is somewhat difficult to obtain - we're estimating a six year waiting list at the moment. There are various reasons why people want to join and a prime position at the Airshow is amongst them.
​
Because the Officer's Mess has just that - a considerable expanse on the flight line just for its customers. Throughout the day the entire cafe, offering an enticing range of food, drink and specials, is at the disposal of our members, and a very few other passholders.
​
Each day we will be able to cater for just 30 non members and when passes go on sale they usually sell out in hours.
​
What's on Offer​

1. Exclusive access to the Officer's Mess from 09:30 each day when it opens, until 18:00 for one day.

2. Food and Drink from the Officer's Mess menu and specials available to purchase exclusively by members and passholders - beating the queues which are unavoidable at the Food Village.

3. Access to the airside viewing area in the middle of the Airshow.

4. Choice - the Officer's Mess won't be offering a set, limited menu - their entire range for the weekend is on offer for you to purchase whenever and however you wish. It's all very relaxed.

On this day, 82 years ago, the world witnessed the extraordinary bravery of the Allied forces during the D-Day invasion.

As we commemorate this significant anniversary, we remember the immense sacrifices made on the beaches of Normandy to secure freedom and peace.

Their heroic actions changed the course of history and continue to inspire generations.

Today, we honour and thank those who served, and we vow to never forget their contributions.

Vans RV8

Firstly, a confession. This is not the epic image of RAF veteran Harrier pilot Mark Linney aboard his Vans RV-8 you think it is. It's AI and we really don't use AI.

However Mark's not actually performed his new display in his new toy yet. So, some of the ace photographers whose work we use, like Paul Johnson, can work miracles, but photographing something that hasn't happened yet is not amongst them.

What we do know is that Mark is no stranger to Airshows and especially not to the cockpit. The Harrier is one in a list of a great many aircraft he's flown and it's quite likely you've witnessed his flying before - as a passenger on an airliner.
This will be a little more vigorous as he's doing it aboard a super agile, powerful and acclaimed aerobatic aircraft. You've seen RV8's here before, 7 of them at once when the Ravens came last year, but this time it'll just be one demonstration as to what a lifetime of flying and a proper aircraft can do the rules of physics.
