This is our beautiful play room where are children play a big part in creating their learning environments with the support of our fabulous staff team.😍πŸ₯°

We recently had a special visitor called Dandelion who is supporting the children with the new transition to primary one this year. Dandelion brought the children a gift of seeds and tools for our garden and the children are learning:-
* to grow plants
* name their basic parts
* how they grow
* what they need to do to look after them

Our children at Rainbow love our garden area and we have taken the outdoors inside where the children are enjoying loose parts play in our construction area - building, creating, problem solving, connecting, transporting and so much more.

In our role play area the children have created a cafe where they are learning all about a range of fruit and veg, cutting, chopping, mixing, numeracy skills and communicating.

The children have decorated plant pots within our art area and have planted sun flower seeds, learning how to care for these and other seeds.

All of our children are loving playing with our magnetic shapes and have created some wonderful master pieces - these magnets are very delicate indeed and one slight push can knock them all downπŸ˜₯ The children truly are amazing and show fabulous perseverance skills and rebuild their creations! Good job friends πŸ’ͺπŸ™ŒπŸŒˆ

On 16th March its been a year since the Scottish Government implemented β€˜The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNCR’ we wanted to share how we were already meeting this new legislation at Rainbow and why it's important to us. πŸ€—πŸŒˆ

The concept of rights can be challenging for our youngest learnings and it has always been important to our staff team at Rainbow, to support children to understand how their rights are central to everyday experience and relationships.🀯πŸ˜₯πŸ˜…

We also want children at Rainbow to develop a strong sense of who they are and to feel they can have, and express, their preferences, likes, dislikes, opinions, rights and form positive relationships with peers and staffβ˜ΊοΈπŸ˜ŸπŸ™†β€β™€οΈπŸ™„πŸ₯°πŸ€”

Rainbow Childcare believes that all children have basic needs, and it is their universal right to have these met to ensure they can develop to their full potential. πŸ’ͺπŸ™ŒπŸŒˆ

The world today unfortunately has lots of uncertainty, worry and sadness - at Rainbow we provide a safe place where children are at the centre of our practice, where we endeavour to ensure that children are happy and thriving. This is clearly emphasised in our vision for all families, which are:-

Our Vision, Values and Aims

At Rainbow Childcare we have high morals where children’s health and wellbeing are paramount to us. We support children to grow and develop through challenging, fun, and exciting experiences which encourages them to reach their full potential.

On 16 March 2021, the Scottish Parliament unanimously passed the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Bill. The Bill is a landmark piece of legislation that aims to empower our children and young people to claim their rights and help to make Scotland the best place in the world to grow up.
