About Us
Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre is part of a well-established bird and wildlife sanctuary set in Burley Bushes woodland in a quiet part of Rutland.
Run ‘not for profit’ but to provide a safe and secure home to hawks, owls, falcons and big cats, you are welcome to visit and enjoy a few hours away from the world exploring the woodland trail and seeing some of the most beautiful birds of prey right up close. For the enthusiast we offer hands-on falconry experiences with hawks or owls and for the lover of big cats, why not join in for our ‘Big Cat’ Days guided tour - run 6 times a year.
We are open to walk-in visitors Tuesday to Sunday each week, 10am - 4pm. Your entrance fee gives you free parking and access to our woodland trail exploring the aviaries and bird enclosures providing temporary or forever home for our residents. Birds are flown every day. Falconry experiences take place on Wednesday and Sunday each week. If you would like to fly an owl or hawk, our Bird Experiences are pre-booked, along with our Big Cat Days. For more information please click here
By visiting the Centre, your entrance fee is a 100% donation to the ongoing rescue and rehoming programmes and is vital to continue our essential work, making sure every bird has a good home and allows us to continue to protect the biodiversity of Burley Bushes Woodland.
