Rutland Sanctuary Zoo RSZ under new management since September 2020. We are a small community zoo with big ideas. Based Rutland Water - North Shore LE15 8QL

We champion education and ethical and standards of husbandry within and outside the zoo. Full covered venue - whatever the weather.

We are heart broken to announce that we are having to close our doors at this time due to the energy increase crisis that has effect us in such a detrimental way, we are sadly not alone in this as other little family zoos have been forced into the same situation and that’s not ignoring the effect it is having on everyone’s day to day life.

We are forever grateful for all the support and love from all our friends, family and visitors towards each of ourselves and our charges.

If by some miracle there is a potential change in the increase and that happens over night then we shall update you all.

Most importantly, to reassure everyone, all our animals are safe and still our highest priority to ensure they have a secure and safe full life ahead of them.

Going forward we will be closed weekdays - with cost of energy we are having to adapt staffing with opening and having someone to met you all at the door. Like many many other small businesses, small rescues and sanctuaries, reptile/non exotics shops etc we are all trying to prepare for the fact that many are going to be extremely hard hit or be forced to close with the horrendous increase of electric prices come October- adapt and overcome and hope for a solution for business and homes.

We are still opening EVERY weekend.

Saturday 10am - 5pm (last paid entry 4pm)
Sunday 10am - 4pm (last paid entry 3pm)
