EXPERIENCED IN OPERATIONS? STEP INTO A CLOSE PROTECTION ROLE IN BASRA.

Control Risks is recruiting Team Members / Deputy Team Leaders / 2ICs to support client protection operations in Basra, Iraq.
This is a specialist opportunity for experienced military or police professionals looking to move into the commercial security sector. The role involves supporting armed and non-armed protection operations in hostile and high-risk environments, including route and venue reconnaissance, communications, navigation, operational planning and client briefings.

You may also be required to support or lead the team, issue direction and ensure operations are carried out in line with Control Risks’ procedures and standards.

Key requirements include:
➡️ 5+ years’ military or police experience
➡️ At least 6 months’ operational experience
➡️ Valid SIA Close Protection Licence
➡️ Recognised Close Protection and medical qualifications
➡️ Fluent English
➡️ Ability to deploy at short notice

Previous commercial security experience in Iraq, oil and gas environments or local guard force management would be advantageous.

Crossroads Truck & Bus is actively recruiting HGV Technicians and is inviting members of the Armed Forces Community to its Boroughbridge depot.

You’ll get the chance to see the working environment first-hand, learn more about the role and training available, speak directly with the team and take part in an interview on the day.

An HGV licence is advantageous, but not essential, so if you have experience in engineering, mechanical or vehicle maintenance, this could be a great opportunity to see where your skills could take you.

There’s still time to register for the UK Power Networks Gateway into the Energy Sector, taking place 14–25 September.

This two-week programme gives current serving HM Forces personnel approaching or undertaking resettlement the chance to gain real hands-on experience, understand what working in the energy sector is actually like and develop practical skills that can support their next career move.

You’ll get the opportunity to shadow UK Power Networks teams, take part in skills workshops, visit a substation and build valuable industry knowledge and connections.

💡 HM Forces Fibre Telecommunications Bootcamp
A comprehensive fibre optic telecommunications programme for Armed Forces leavers.

An intensive, hands-on programme for those looking to move into the UK’s growing network infrastructure sector.

👉 ELC / ELCAS funding is available for eligible learners.

Enhanced Learning Credits can support Level 3+ learning, depending on length of service:

• 6–8 years’ service: 3 x £1,000 claims or 1 x £3,000 claim
• Over 8 years’ service: 3 x £2,000 claims
• Claims are used in separate financial years
• Financial year: 1 April–31 March
• Eligible credits may be claimed for up to 5 years after leaving Service if unused while serving
