It’s been more than four months since Katie Love was last seen – and for her dad, every single day without her feels like a lifetime.
“The house just isn’t the same anymore. It’s quieter… there’s an emptiness where she should be.”
The 48-year-old was reported missing at the end of February, and despite extensive enquiries, there are still no answers about where she is or what’s happened to her.
Known for her love of animals, Katie worked with them for years and adored her three cats – Melly, Shelly and Badger. Leaving them behind was completely out of character. “She loved those cats so much,” he said. “I know she wouldn’t have left them unless something was wrong.”
Describing Katie as strong, affectionate and fiercely independent, he said she’s someone who lives life her own way, but is always there for those she loves. She’s got a big heart. No matter what, she’d be there when you needed her,” he said. “That’s the Katie I know.”
Her absence is felt in the smallest, everyday moments – popping in, feeding her cats, or visiting him while he was in hospital.
“I still feel like she’s going to walk through the door,” he said. “I think about her all the time… I just want to know where she is. The other day, I could have sworn she was standing next to me in the living room, smiling,” he said. "I dream about her all the time, but then you wake up and she’s still not here.”
Now, he’s asking the community for help.
“If anyone knows anything at all, please come forward,” he said. “Help us find out where she is and what’s happened. Katie is missed more than words can say. I just want her home…”
