Griff & Coton Sports and Community Club The Griff and Coton Sports and Miners Welfare Club grounds were opened in 1909. with land donated by the Arbury Estate for miners to use in their free time.

The main club opened in 1927 paid for by the miners of Griff No 4 and Griff Clara. paying a penny out of their wages each week . Over the years the club has built strong sports sections with Crown Green Bowls and Cricket being the first sports to played quickly followed by Tennis and Football. Rugby and Netball were introduced in the 70’s and 80’s.
