Galley Common Childcare is proud to announce that we are one of only 43 early years settings across the whole of Warwickshire that have been awarded and recognised for our high-quality support for children with special educational needs and disabilities! Our two SENCo’s Mrs Lancastle and Mrs Webb collected our latest certificate on Friday 7th of June 🤩

Well done to all the team for their hard work and commitment to doing the very best for the children in our care 🤩

Forty-three early years settings across Warwickshire have been recognised for the high-quality of their support for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

The acknowledgment took place at an awards ceremony held at Shire Hall in Warwick on Friday 7th June, where representatives from the early years settings were presented with their award.

The award, known as the Warwickshire Inclusion Kitemarking Scheme (WIncKS), celebrates early years settings that excel in offering inclusive early years education for children with SEND.

Less than two weeks to go before the Reception and Junior School

Place application deadline
Parents and carers who have children who are due to start in Reception or to move to a Junior School in September have only till 5pm on Monday 15 January to apply for their school place. With less than two weeks to go, there are still around 1,000 parents and carers yet to submit their application for a Reception place and around 150 that still need to apply for a Junior school place.

This deadline of 15 January for a Reception place applies to children born between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020. The same deadline applies to children who are currently in Year 2 at an infant school, who want to move to a junior school. This transfer does not happen automatically, even between schools with the same name.

Applications should be made online at: www.warwickshire.gov.uk/primaryplace.

All parents and carers who apply by the deadline will receive their child’s school offer on National Offer Day, 16 April 2024.

Applications that don’t meet the 15 January deadline will only be considered once those submitted on time have been made offers, by which time many schools will be full, and the child is much less likely to be offered a place at their preferred school.

Applications are now open for 15 hours free childcare for two-year-olds

We want to make sure that parents don’t need to choose between having a career and having a family.

That’s why today, we’re confirming that from January, more parents will be able to apply to claim their government-funded childcare provision.
As part of the biggest childcare expansion in history, this will give eligible working parents access to 15 hours of childcare per week from April.

New childminders can also receive a financial boost of up to £1,200 with the launch of the Childminder Start-up Grant Scheme starting tomorrow.

We recommend applying for childcare support between mid-January and the end of February to get your code in good time, and avoid having to renew registration ahead of the start of the offer in April.
