Another example of the difference Immediate Justice can make in our communities.👇

After a local business in Sneinton was targeted with graffiti, a referral was made through the new Immediate Justice website, allowing the issue to be quickly identified and assessed.

Immediate Justice participants then carried out the clean-up work, helping restore the premises and improve the appearance of the local area.

This is exactly what the scheme is designed to do - ensuring people who commit low-level offences and antisocial behaviour give something back to the communities affected by their actions through visible, meaningful reparation work.

Offenders can be tasked with activities such as graffiti removal, litter picking and environmental improvements, helping to repair the harm caused to local neighbourhoods.

If there’s an area near you affected by graffiti, litter, fly-tipping or environmental damage, you can now report it through the new Immediate Justice website and help decide where future reparation work takes place.

⚽ Ahead of England's second World Cup group game this evening, we know that this is a time of excitement within our communities.

For too many people though, it's also a time of fear. Domestic abuse spikes during men's football tournaments, and reports of incidents increase by 38% when England play.

While football doesn’t cause domestic abuse, we know that existing abuse can become more severe or frequent during major tournaments.

As a White Ribbon Accredited organisation, Notts OPCC is dedicated to ending violence against women and girls.

There are several organisations within Nottinghamshire who can help if you are a victim of domestic abuse, and if you're in immediate danger, always call 999.

👏 The head of a charity supporting deaf and deafblind women is among the community champions to win an award from Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden.

🔒 A volunteer organisation helping people stay safe in the city centre at night, and the leader of a project allowing young people to have a voice in policing and crime prevention, were also recognised at the PCC Awards.

👮‍♀️They were handed out as part of a wider annual Force Awards ceremony recognising policing heroes, held at Nottinghamshire Police and Fire Service joint HQ, with proud families and VIP guests in attendance.

The winners included:
🏆 Vulnerability Champion: Teresa Waldron, of Deaf-initely Women
🏆 Young Futures: Kelese Hyacinth, of Leaders Unlocked
🏆 Community Cohesion and Public Service: Nottingham Street Pastors

Earlier today, Nottinghamshire Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden and Deputy PCC Angela Kandola were honoured to attend a civic service marking 78 years of the Windrush generation.

The event was held at the Council House in Nottingham and brought together communities from across Nottinghamshire to honour the strength, culture, and contributions of those who helped rebuild post-war Britain and shape the diverse city we are proud to call home.🌍🕊️

The aim is to make the city centre a safer place for everyone to live, work and visit.

Major sporting tournaments can bring communities together, but sadly national research shows incidents of domestic abuse can increase during and after high-profile matches, particularly when England lose.

Domestic abuse is never acceptable, whatever the score.
