Ladycross Infant School Ladycross is a happy and successful infant and nursery school in Sandiacre, Derbyshire. The children are central to everything we do.

Ladycross Infant School is a successful infant and nursery school in Sandiacre, Derbyshire. The school was built in the early 1900s and has had numerous additions since. We have made the most of our environment and take pride in ensuring that Ladycross is a warm and friendly place, with lots going on. We have a nursery, reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes. A large hall is used for lunchtimes, ass

emblies and concerts, as well as school events. We have recently developed a wildlife area with a pond! The Early Years department has a large outdoor learning area. We also have a Early Years Centre on our site including a sensory room.

We have a lot of things to be thankful for recently and wanted to share this gratitude with everyone.

During Easter one of our parent volunteers came and fixed our toilets!! Thank you!!
We also received some donated Crown Paint from a Wickes Programme !! Thank you!!
Finally a lovely lady donated her time and came to the school and took some photographs for our new website!

A massive thank you to Michelle and Andrew from Balfour Beatty who spent the morning with our year 2’s! We had an exciting session learning about what happens on construction sites. After in groups, we designed and made bridges using straws, paper and tape. Then we tested out our bridges by seeing how many cars we could put on them. The results were very close!

A huge thank you to Mrs Martin, from Canal River Trust, who taught us how to be SAFE near Erewash canal (and other places near water).
She told us to keep two steps back; quack, quack, so if we fall near water we should land on land and not the water. We learnt who to call if we find someone who is having trouble in the water. Finally she taught us SAFE; Stay Away From the Edge!
