💙 Celebrating Carers Week 💙
This week, we have been proud to celebrate our amazing team during Carers Week and take the opportunity to recognise the dedication, compassion, and hard work they show every single day.
As a small token of our appreciation, each member of our care team received a certificate in recognition of their commitment and the difference they make to the lives of our residents. Throughout the week, they were also treated to plenty of chocolates, and pop to enjoy.
We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our carers. Your kindness, patience, and unwavering support help make our home a happy, safe, and caring place for everyone who lives here.
We truly appreciate everything you do – not just during Carers Week, but every day of the year. 💐

🌟 Meet the Team – Yasmin

This week, we’re introducing Yasmin, one of our dedicated care staff members.

Yasmin has been part of the Westwolds family for nearly 11 years and has become a valued member of the team. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Yasmin says she loves working at Westwolds and enjoys spending time with both residents and colleagues.

Fun Fact: Before joining Westwolds, Yasmin worked as a barmaid!

🌽 Happy National Corn on the Cob Day! 🌽
Today we're celebrating one of summer's simplest pleasures – delicious sweet corn on the cob! Whether it brings back memories of family barbecues, summer fairs, or meals shared with loved ones, corn on the cob is a wonderful reminder of the joys found in everyday moments.
Our residents have been sharing their favourite summer food memories and enjoying a taste of this seasonal treat. It's always lovely to reminisce, laugh, and create new memories together.

🌞🚶‍♀️ What a Lovely Day We've Had! 🚶‍♂️🌞
Our residents have enjoyed a wonderful day out and about in the local community today.
We started with a visit to Rhubarbs Cafe & Tea room, where everyone enjoyed a relaxing drink, cake and a catch-up in the welcoming surroundings. ☕🍰
The sunshine made for a perfect stroll through the Burton Joyce Parish Council Community Gardens, where residents admired the beautiful flowers, statues and peaceful setting. 🌺🌿
We also paid a visit to the War Memorial Garden, taking time to reflect, enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, and appreciate this special place within our community. ❤️
Days like these are so important, providing opportunities to enjoy fresh air, socialise, reminisce, and stay connected with the local area that means so much to our residents.
A lovely day filled with smiles, friendship, and making memories together. 😊

Meet Beverly, one of our carers! 💙

Beverly has been part of the Westwolds family for almost 11 years and will celebrate her 11-year anniversary with us this November.

Fun fact: Beverly is originally from Brighton and worked as a market trader for more than 20 years before relocating to Nottingham!

We’re grateful for Beverly’s dedication, experience, and the care she brings to our residents every day. Thank you for everything you do, Beverly! 🌟

🎶💃 A Trip Down Memory Lane! 🕺🎶
Our residents had a wonderful time enjoying a lively sing-along filled with classic favourites from years gone by.
There was plenty of laughter, singing, and even a little dancing as everyone joined in with much-loved songs, including the ever-popular Hokey Cokey! 🎵
Music has a special way of bringing people together, sparking happy memories, and putting smiles on faces. It was fantastic to see our residents singing along, sharing stories, and enjoying each other's company.
Days like these remind us that you're never too old to have fun and make wonderful memories! ❤️

Leanne has been part of the Westwolds team for 4 years, providing excellent care, support, and companionship to our residents every day.

Leanne says she enjoys being part of such a friendly and caring team and loves making a difference in residents’ lives.

🐟🍟 Happy National Fish and Chip Day! 🍟🐟
Today our residents enjoyed a traditional British favourite for lunch as we celebrated National Fish and Chip Day here at Westwolds Care Home.
There were plenty of smiles around the dining room as everyone tucked into freshly cooked fish and crispy chips, bringing back fond memories and sparking conversations about seaside trips, family holidays, and favourite fish and chip shops from years gone by.
It's always wonderful to see how food can bring people together and create moments of joy and reminiscence.
A delicious lunch enjoyed by all! ❤️
