Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library

Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library Norfolk's flagship library, based in Norwich UK. Books, events, PCs and Wi-Fi, printing facilities, study spaces - and more. Managed by Norfolk County Council.

Home to Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk. You all know you can borrow books from a library. But did you know that you can also borrow ebooks, audio books (both on CD and for your ipod/phone/tablet), DVDs and music CDs? Not only that but we have FREE internet - both via wifi and our own computer terminals! What's that, there's more? Yep! We also have two wonderful children's libraries (one

for 0-7s and one for 8-12s) and a dedicated teen section too. There's ALSO a huge selection of fiction and non-fiction on the 1st floor and the stupendous Norfolk Heritage Centre and BIPC Norfolk on the 2nd floor. Incredible! Join us for Refugee Week, from Monday 15 June to Sunday 21 June 2026!

The Millennium Library invites you to design and print a welcome, fun design on a tote bag for Refugee Week. Running alongside the International Welcome group on Tuesday 16 June, this creative session will be happening in the Gallery space in The Forum, Norwich 2.30-5pm. Drop in, no booking required, for all ages and it's free!

While you're in the Forum, stop by to look at the amazing display of heart postcards for Hope Happens Here with Norwich City of Sanctuary and New Routes. The postcards with hopeful written messages will be displayed for Refugee Week 15-21 June. City of Sanctuary explain: Our 🧡Hope Happens Here🧡 campaign will show what a welcoming – and HOPEFUL – Norwich looks like. It can sometimes feel like stories of division and negativity dominate the headlines. But that’s not the full picture. All around us, people are welcoming new neighbours, volunteering their time, offering friendship and solidarity and standing up for fairness and compassion. Together, we will shine a light on the positive actions and hopeful ambitions that shape our city, and remind ourselves that there is far more that connects us than divides us.

A reminder that the Millennium Library is holding international groups throughout June in the Gallery space in the Forum.

We've been enjoying seeing everyone who has visited our pop up library to grab some books 📚 If you have a reservation waiting for you and you are in the city, please pop by. As you can see, we are getting a bit full 😆

We've got a bit of a plea on behalf of the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library - if you're able to, please come and collect your reservations from our pop-up library in The Forum, Norwich!

The reservation shelves are getting a little bit packed in the pop-up - in fact we now have 2 overflow trolleys too, and there are more reservations coming in from branch libraries every day. So again, if you are able to, please help us out a little bit and pick them up to make a bit of space for even more reservations 😅

(Please note - this certainly isn't a nag or anything, we're grateful so many of you are reserving books!)

Our pop-up is open 7 days a week, 10am-5pm during the week, 9am-5pm Saturday and 10:30am-4:30pm Sunday - so hopefully we will see you soon ❤️

Join us for our regular ‘Poetry Just a cuppa’ social event which we’ve managed to squeeze into our events programme this month (albeit a week earlier than usual!), on Thursday the 21st May 2.30-4pm in The Gallery, the Forum.

This time the theme is 'Water', so grab your Nature collections (or something more abstract, it’s however you choose to interpret it!) and bring along your favourite poem to discuss with our friendly group. Or if you’re feeling inspired, feel free to conjure up your own poem using water as a prompt to share in a supportive environment!

Come along to meet new people, discover new poets and maybe even create your own poem over a cuppa. No need to book, just drop in. We look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with!
