**UPDATE** - Headway Services secured in Norfolk and Waveney

Headway Norfolk and Waveney and Headway Suffolk are pleased to announce that services at risk in the region for adults with acquired brain injuries have now been secured. In partnership with Norfolk County Council the two organisations have agreed to transfer the services to Headway Suffolk after Headway Norfolk and Waveney announced its closure in October.

This means that Outreach Support and Day Centres in Kings Lynn, Norwich, Dereham, Long Stratton and Great Yarmouth will stay open and continue in their current locations and jobs have been secured for centre staff.

A Focus on Supporting Clients and Staff during a Difficult Time

The charity’s CEO, Claire Boothby-Barnbrook, explained:

“Our priority has always been trying to secure the best outcome for our clients and staff in a difficult financial situation. We are grateful to our clients for the outpouring of support that we have received and for their championing of a valuable service. We also thank Norfolk County Council and Headway UK for their efforts in helping us find a solution that provides continuity for our clients. We are confident that, in assuming responsibility for our service provision, Headway Suffolk will strengthen and sustain the Headway service across the region, while continuing to share our deep commitment to brain injury survivors and their families.”

What this means for our clients

Clients currently supported by Headway Norfolk and Waveney will be contacted individually with details of the transition.

📢 Myth-Busting: Wills Are Only for the Wealthy? 📢

As part of our Legacy Conversations series with Heritage Wills, we're tackling common misconceptions about Wills and why they matter for everyone.

One prevalent myth is that Wills are only for the wealthy. This couldn't be further from the truth! 💰❌

A Will is essential for everyone, regardless of financial status. Here’s why:

✅ It’s the only way you can control the distribution of your estate, ensuring your wishes are honoured.

✅ It protects your loved ones by providing clarity and preventing potential disputes.

✅ If you have minor children, a Will allows you to name guardians, ensuring they are cared for by those you trust.

Making a Will is about securing peace of mind and protecting what matters most to you.

Stay tuned for more insights in our series, or feel free to ask in the comments below! ⬇️

✨ New beginnings for our Great Yarmouth Day Service Centre...

Our move to Centre 81 has brought lots of positive changes – a quieter room, better temperature, and a bright new space that’s easier to focus in.

Some of our clients shared their thoughts:
💬 “It’s nice and bright with plenty of room.”
💬 “Lower ceilings, much nicer.”
💬 “It’s nice to have our own space – somewhere to call our own.”

Change isn’t always easy, but this move has been a great step forward for everyone at Headway Norfolk and Waveney 💙

✨ Our clients have just completed a 6-week Positive Affirmation course ✨ Each person created their very own piece of art to take home, featuring uplifting quotes and affirmations they can turn to every day. 💜

Positive affirmations are powerful tools that help build confidence, boost self-belief, and encourage resilience – especially when times feel challenging. By practicing them daily, we can quieten negative thoughts and remind ourselves of our strengths. 💪🌈
