Calling all writers, directors and actors!

Take part in our Flash Theatre event: A Play in a weekend 😊
Open to anyone age 18+

Friday evening - Writers
Writers have a masterclass with this year's amazing Writer. Then they have until 4pm Saturday to write a 1-act play, or part of a play.

Saturday evening - Actors and Directors (Writers welcome to attend)
Actors and Directors will meet for a professionally led masterclass.
As we leave, the Directors will take home a synopsis of each new work, read them and decide which their 1st and 2nd choice would be.

Sunday morning - Actors and Directors (Writers welcome to attend)
Early morning warm-up to set us up for the day while the Directors meet to talk over the play choice.

Sunday all day - Actors and Directors (Writers welcome to attend)
It's time for rehearsal, rehearsal, rehearsal, drink tea, have a fun time, chat with friends, rehearse some more!

Sunday evening - All
7pm - 10pm SHOW TIME for the general public, family and friends.

This weekend is for people that have a joy and desire to make new theatre and are keen to make contact with people locally for future projects. You will need to be a team player. Actors will spend the day together with the Directors, breaking down the script, discovering characters and working to bring the piece to life.

We believe in producing collaborative, theatrical experiences that challenge people and allow art to be made. That said there will be some parameters on the writing material we are prepared to showcase. Generally we want this piece to be respectful to individuals and cultures, and follow our ethos: Inclusion across race, ethnicity, health, disability, gender, age, religion, identity and experience which is central to us as humans and us, as an organisation.

We aim to keep this event as financially accessible as possible and offer Pay-What-You-Can-Afford prices.
The venue is wheelchair accessible and has a wheelchair accessible toilet.
