Class 1 have been getting creative this term with their fantastic space-themed craft projects! At the beginning of the Summer Term, the children were challenged to combine their learning from Art on 3D sculpture with everything they have discovered in our exciting Space Topic. It has been wonderful to see the children applying the different art techniques they have learnt in class, including quilling, spiralling and concertinaing, to create their amazing sculptures. We have loved seeing all of their imaginative creations — every project has been truly out of this world!

Class 1 had a fantastic time baking as part of their learning on writing instructions! The children became mini chefs and followed a recipe to make delicious space cakes. They carefully ordered the steps they took and then showed off their fantastic writing skills by creating their very own recipes. If you would like to try making our space cakes at home, we have included two photos of the children’s wonderful recipes for you to follow. We hope they are just as tasty as the ones we enjoyed in class!

Last Friday, KS2 turned off the lights for PE and got to try their hand at glow in the dark dodgeball!

This unique game was lots of fun and it was fantastic to see the children get stuck in and remember the key fundamentals of dodgeball - dodge, dip, dive, duck and... dodge!
