PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON BLACKBOARDS THIS MORNING!
So what is happening now North Yorkshire Council ?
Norton Road - recently agreed to be permanently one-way - is open to two way traffic this morning. I expect its because of the installation of the zebra crossing on Railway Street - but YET AGAIN the town council wasn't informed. Reminiscent of another 'overnight change' that led to traffic chaos in Norton.... (clue - Church Street!)
Just another example of North Yorkshire Council ignoring local communities and the impact that their decisions have on them

Great news for residents of Lakeside and the numerous other people who enjoy spending time around the lake in Norton - after lobbying by Mayor, Cllr Di Keal and Norton town council, North Yorkshire Council contractors have returned to tidy up the banks of the lake and surrounding shrubs and bushes and cut the grass.
A bit more work is still needed by the Environment Agency in the lake itself, but things are already looking much better!

Great job North Yorkshire Council on Wood Street, Norton, but the signs for the planned work on Park Road and Welham Road have now mysteriously disappeared - has the money run out or will your contractors be back soon? I am sure residents are keen to know having been put on notice of works three times already recently.....

Ryedale District Council's LifeLine service was an exemplar of best practice and has been decimated by North Yorkshire Council

Local MP Tom Gordon has called for changes to North Yorkshire Council’s Lifeline service to be put on hold until residents have been consulted.

Free local bus travel is a vital lifeline for many disabled people.

After an almost two-year campaign the Government has finally listened to Liberal Democrat calls to stop restrictions to disabled bus passes.

Disabilities don’t start at 9.30am. Neither should disabled bus passes.

Just wondering when North Yorkshire Council will finally decide when they are going to do road repairs on Park Road in Norton and Welham Road?
This is the third time the road closed signs have been changed.....

Following the success of the campaign to Save Cauwood Day Centre, Malton, North Yorkshire - this is my comment piece in the Yorkshire Post - bigger isn't always better.....

Before the creation of North Yorkshire Council, I predicted the likely outcomes of the new mega-council for local communities – nearly five years on and many of my predictions have come true.
