HELP NEEDED!

Did you know that Weaverham has a long association with Russet apples? In fact, anyone born in the village is traditionally known as a “Russet”!

We are keen to preserve the Weaverham (Wareham) Russet Apple for future generations and are trying to find existing trees so that we can hopefully identify, propagate and protect this piece of our local heritage.

Do you have a Weaverham (Wareham) Russet apple tree in your garden?
Or do you know of one anywhere in or around Weaverham?
Perhaps you know of an old orchard or a tree that has been in your family for many years?

We would love to hear from you!

Please comment below or contact Weaverham Parish Council if you think you may have a tree or information about where one can be found.

Let’s work together to save the Weaverham Russet for future generations!

Wallerscote Road Weight Restriction – Resident Information

Weaverham Parish Council has received a number of complaints regarding Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) breaching the 7.5-tonne weight restriction on Wallerscote Road.

Residents are encouraged to report any suspected breaches to the Police by calling 101. If it is safe to do so, please also take a photograph showing the vehicle registration number, as this may assist with enforcement action.

The Parish Council is taking these concerns seriously and will be approaching both Cheshire Police and Cheshire West and Chester Council to explore measures to address the issue, including the possible installation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras to help deter and identify offending vehicles.

Thank you for your support in helping to keep our roads safe and reduce unnecessary heavy traffic through the village.
