Father's Day can bring many different emotions.

For some, it is a day of celebration. For others, it is a day of remembrance, reflection, and quiet moments spent thinking of fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, father figures, and those who have played an important role in our lives.

On Sunday 21st June, between 10am and 3pm, we warmly invite you to join us at Birches Crematorium for a special Father's Day Remembrance Event.

Our chapel will be open throughout the day, providing a peaceful space for reflection. Light music will be playing, and screens within the chapel will display photographs and names of loved ones being remembered. Tea and coffee will be available in reception, and visitors are welcome to spend time enjoying the tranquillity of our gardens.

If you would like a photograph and/or the name of someone special to be included in the remembrance display, please upload your submission before Wednesday 17th June via:
www.birchescrematorium.co.uk/fathersday

Whether you stay for a few moments or a few hours, we hope you will find comfort in taking time to remember those who continue to hold a special place in your heart.

The 1st of June marks the beginning of Pride Month.

At Birches, we know that saying goodbye to someone you love is one of the most vulnerable moments in a person’s life. For many LGBTQ+ people, that grief can be made even harder by the fear of not being seen, respected, or acknowledged for who they are and who they loved.

Recent research has shown that as many as 24% of LGBTQ+ people having to arrange a funeral worry about discrimination or misunderstanding. Some fear a loved one’s identity may be erased through incorrect names or pronouns. Others fear that partners, close friends, or chosen family may be overlooked or excluded during arrangements and services.

Pride Month is an opportunity not only to celebrate LGBTQ+ communities, but also to recognise why visibility, acceptance, and dignity still matter — including within funeral arrangements.

At Birches, everyone is welcome.
We are committed to creating a compassionate, respectful space where every life, every identity, every relationship, and every family is treated with dignity and understanding.

Because remembrance should always reflect the person truly and honestly — and everyone deserves to be remembered as themselves.

We’re delighted to share that together we raised an incredible £521.08 for St Luke's Cheshire Hospice — an amazing achievement that wouldn’t have been possible without each and every one of you.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Garden Open Day and plant sale, despite the unpredictable weather, it was wonderful to see so many of you enjoying the gardens in bloom and supporting such a meaningful cause. Your generosity, kindness, and community spirit made the day special.

Thank you again for braving the elements, for your support, and for helping make the day such a success. We hope you enjoy these beautiful summer snaps from the garden as much as we do.

If you have a beautiful garden you would like to share you can find out more on how to raise money by sharing your space on the St Luke's website.

We carefully select our plants to provide food, habitats and shelter for local wildlife.

Our pollinator-friendly planting is attracting busy bees, playing their vital role in supporting biodiversity across the park. Around our water areas, dragonflies can be spotted gliding gracefully—always a joy to see and a sign of a healthy environment.

Even more exciting, our nest boxes are now in use, with birds making themselves at home and raising their young. It’s incredibly rewarding to see these spaces providing safe shelter and helping local bird populations thrive.

Moments like these remind us how important it is to create and care for natural habitats—not just for wildlife, but for everyone who finds peace in nature.

If you visit, take a quiet moment… you might just spot some of these amazing creatures for yourself 🧡

So wonderful to work with the team at Memories Funeral Service Ltd to support a family with a really personal farewell to their loved one in our gardens.

There is no 'set' way to hold a funeral and it can be healing to be involved and arrange a goodbye that reflects the life and wishes of a loved one.

Whether a dignified, private unattended cremation or a personal, outdoor funeral with family coming together, the Birches team and your funeral director are honoured to be here for you.
