🌟 Celebrating International Literacy Day 2026 🌟

Today we join UNESCO in celebrating International Literacy Day and its 60th anniversary.

Literacy opens doors to knowledge, confidence, opportunity and connection. This year's theme, "Literacy for people, the planet and prosperity", reminds us of the importance of ensuring everyone has access to the skills they need to participate fully in society.

Libraries play a key role in supporting literacy at every age, from sharing stories with young children to helping adults develop new skills.

Saturday 12th September is the final day of this year's Summer Reading Challenge!

Don't forget Explore A Story sessions run every Monday from 10:30am - 11am at Weston Favell Library 📚

During these free sessions children from ages 2 - 5 will have a story read to them by a member of the library team. We then finish each session by making crafts linked to the book!

Our next baby weigh is the 10th September after our regular Baby Bounce session. This session is for newborns up to 12 months and non walkers. The session starts 10am till 10:30, please collect a ticket on that day of session.
