Our local badminton group are offering a free trial for children to try the sport. Currently, the children in KS1 and KS2 play as part of their indoor PE lessons in Term 3 and look forward to these!

A reminder about the Summer Reading challenge along with all the wonderful free activities they have at the library during the summer holidays!

We waited a while to get our first big week out of the way and can report that well over 400 children have signed up to the Summer Reading Challenge at Duston Library so far! There's still a LONG way to go and plenty of time to sign up - and if you have signed up, plenty of time to get your 6 books read!

Don't forget we've got events going on in the library all through the Summer but I suppose people might be wondering who's winning our schools competition so far..? Well, off to their usual quick start are HARLESTONE, topping the table in week 1 but look at that mighty effort from THE DUSTON SCHOOL to grab second place! Perennial challengers DUSTON ELDEAN sit in third, with MILLWAY posting great figures in fourth, and HOPPING HILL off to a steady start in fifth.

It's anyone's to win - make sure you represent your school by starting AND finishing the challenge!

Year 6 have had the most wonderful leavers' barbecue. Perfect weather, ice cream, football, hide and seek, tennis - just children being children. They were brilliant as they have been all year. Good luck next year - they will smash it!

Tiger class had a terrific time at Oxford Museum a few weeks ago! They were so involved in the classroom and had a 'whale' of a time looking at the exhibits!

Panther Class had a wonderful time at Oxford Museum a few weeks ago. They impressed the staff with their knowledge on skeletons and thoroughly enjoyed seeing all the rocks and fossils there. The dinosaurs were their favourites!

Year 6 have finished their final performance of their show and we are so proud of what they have achieved. Some things have to be seen to believed. Thank you to all the children for their hard work.
