We reserve the right to hide or delete comments made on our channels, as well as block users who do not follow these guidelines. Update on Scarborough drugs conspiracy investigation 🚨

Two further suspects have been charged and remanded into custody in connection with our investigation.

Nathan Thomas Pratt, 32, of Westway, Eastfield, appeared at York Magistrates’ Court on Monday (22 June 2026) to face three charges:
• Conspiracy to supply class A drugs
• Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs
• Money laundering

He did not enter a plea.

The case has been committed to York Crown Court where he will appear on 20 July 2026.

At Kingston-Upon-Hull Crown Court on Thursday (25 June), Joshua Stephen Scott, Thomas Patrick Edward Howarth, and Erik Edward Fletcher, 37, of South Street, Scarborough, will be appearing at a plea and trial preparation hearing. Fletcher faces the same charges as Scott and Howarth.

The case reference is 12NY0206926.

Scarborough: Co***ne and cannabis supply suspects charged to court

Following a long-running investigation by Scarborough CID, two suspected drug dealers from the town have been charged with conspiracy to supply co***ne and cannabis.

Joshua Stephen Scott, 33, of Greengate, and Thomas Patrick Edward Howarth, 33, of Trinity Road, appeared at Hull Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (19 May 2026).

They also faced an additional charge of acquiring, using or possessing criminal property, namely monies.

They have been remanded in custody before appearing at Kingston-Upon-Hull Crown Court on 19 June 2026, 10am, for a plea and trial preparation hearing (now adjourned to 25 June)

Make the right call before kick-off. Don’t drink or drug drive. ⚽

As fans come together across York and North Yorkshire tonight to support England, we are once again increasing patrols across the county to help keep everyone safe.

You can expect to see high-visibility officers in cities, towns, rural routes and key night-time economy locations. Proactive enforcement will be taking place throughout the evening and into the early hours, including stop checks and roadside operations.

While many drivers do make the right choice, some still take the risk. During the night of the first game, 15 people were arrested in connection with drink or drug driving. We will continue to take robust action against anyone found driving under the influence tonight.

Our message is simple: enjoy the football, plan ahead, and never get behind the wheel after drinking or taking drugs. Whether that means arranging a lift, booking a taxi or staying over, there is no excuse.

Drink or drug driving puts lives at risk. Let’s make tonight about supporting England safely.

Don't score an own goal tomorrow ⚽

If you're going out to watch the World Cup, we want you to enjoy the atmosphere (particularly from 9pm tomorrow!), but be aware that we will not tolerate anti-social or criminal behaviour. Expect firm, fair and friendly policing throughout the tournament.

So if you're planning to head out to watch Tuesday's match:

🤝 Respect staff and fellow fans
🍻 Drink responsibly and know your limits
👥 Look after your mates and stick together
🎫 Plan your journey home before the final whistle

Remember that our town and city centres are shared spaces, with people celebrating, working, visiting and going about their lives. A little respect goes a long way towards making sure everyone can enjoy a safe and enjoyable night.

We are proud to be recognised for our support of the Armed Forces community 💙

We are proud to have been awarded the Ministry of Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award for 2026 - demonstrating the organisation’s dedication and sustained support for the Armed Forces community.

The ERS Silver Award is granted to organisations that demonstrate a proactive commitment to supporting serving personnel, reservists, veterans and their families, and who embed the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant within their workforce practices.

This achievement reflects a significant step forward in NYP’s Armed Forces Covenant journey, building on the foundations established through previous commitments and recent organisational focus on strengthening support for defence personnel.

Together, these efforts ensure that individuals with Armed Forces connections are supported throughout their policing careers.

The award is valid for five years and represents an important milestone in NYP’s long-term ambition to achieve Gold ERS status. The force will continue to build on this success by:
· Strengthening workforce policies and support structures
· Developing partnerships across the Defence community
· Increasing advocacy and visibility of Armed Forces support
· Supporting staff who volunteer with cadet and Armed Forces organisations

The Forcer Protocol:
Last year, NYP adopted the Forcer Protocol, which helps us find Armed Forces veterans, reservists or serving personnel who are reported missing or lost.

The protocol is a tool to ensure key information is available to us to inform our searches. It is named after Alan Forcer, who suffered with complex post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and debilitating depression following service in Northern Ireland and Kosovo, subsequently taking his own life.

A veteran, or their informal and professional carers, family members and friends, can complete the Forcer Protocol form which records vital information about a person. We will only access the form and use the information if that person is reported missing. Appeal for witnesses following fatal collision on A19 👇

We are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal road traffic collision which happened yesterday (Friday 19 June 2026) on the A19, just north of Chapel Haddlesey.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:50pm and involved a black Honda motorcycle and a red Vauxhall Corsa.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 34-year-old man from the Selby area, was taken to hospital. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he was later pronounced deceased. His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, an 18-year-old man is helping officers with their enquiries.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a red Seat Ibiza, which is believed to have been travelling directly behind the Corsa at the time of the collision. This driver may hold vital information that could assist with the investigation.

We are also urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who saw either of the vehicles prior to the incident, to come forward.

One in the cells and stolen motorcycle recovered thanks to cross-border policing ⬇️

A man is in custody after a motorbike was stolen from Filey last night (18 June).

It happened at around 7.30pm when the bike was taken from Murray Street.

Officers sighted the suspect driving through Filey and out of the town towards the East Yorkshire border.

They followed the bike through Foxholes, Langtoft and onto Driffield where it reacted to the police presence and sped off, at one point it tried to go off-road.

Humberside officers who had been alerted to the incident, brought the vehicle to a stop near Barmston.

The 24-year-old suspect was arrested on suspicion of theft of a vehicle, failing to stop for the police, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and drug driving.

The motorcycle was recovered and following medical checks, the suspect was released back into police custody where he currently remains.
