🐾 Friendly Reminder to All Dog Owners 🐾

Cornelly Park is a wonderful place for everyone to enjoy, including our four-legged friends. To help keep the park clean, safe, and pleasant for all visitors, please remember to pick up after your dog and dispose of waste responsibly.

Dog poo left on paths and grass areas can be unpleasant and can pose health risks to children, other dogs, and park users.

Let’s all do our part to keep Cornelly Park looking its best. Thank you to the responsible owners who already clean up after their pets

The allotments in Mawdlam are looking absolutely fantastic and are flourishing with an abundance of fruit, vegetables, and vibrant plant life. 🌱🍓🥕🍅

Not only do these plots provide fresh, locally grown produce for the community, but they have also become a haven for wildlife. Bees, butterflies, birds, and many other species are thriving amongst the diverse mix of plants and habitats.

These thriving allotments demonstrate the important role community growing spaces play in supporting biodiversity, improving the local environment, and creating greener, healthier places for everyone to enjoy.

A huge thank you to all the allotment holders whose hard work and dedication help make Mawdlam such a wonderful example of nature and food production working hand in hand. 🌿🐝🦋

The Community Council would like to extend its sincere thanks to Geraint Mitchell for removing the loose seat from the outdoor gym bike and taking it for safekeeping.

We are pleased to confirm that the Community Council is now back in possession of the seat. It will be reinstalled on the bike in the outdoor gym once the replacement fixings have been received from the Outdoor Gym Company.

In the meantime, we advise residents not to use this piece of equipment until the seat has been securely refitted.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Message from South Wales Police:
Community Scrutiny Panel : Tue 16 Jun 18:00
Scrutiny Panel members needed
What is a Scrutiny Panel?
Scrutiny Panels provide an opportunity for members of the public to observe, review and challenge real policing activity in a safe and structured environment.
During the session, participants will:
• Receive a brief overview of police powers such as Stop & Search
• Watch real body worn video footage of police interactions
• Discuss and reflect on officer actions, communication and decision making
• Share their views on whether policing was fair, respectful and proportionate
Your Role
As a panel member, you will:
• Provide honest feedback on policing tactics, powers and procedures
• Help identify good practice and areas for improvement
• Contribute to shaping how South Wales Police delivers fair and effective policing
Why It Matters
Your feedback helps us:
• Improve transparency and accountability
• Strengthen legitimacy and public trust
• Ensure policing is fair, proportional and community focused
By engaging with the public we seek to increase understanding, legitimacy, confidence and trust in policing.
