Wessex Water is planning a total investment of around £800,000 in North Cadbury this year on two projects to replace ageing water mains and sealing sewers..
These schemes will ensure improved water quality and a more reliable supply for years to come, while the sewer work will help to reduce infiltration into the network
This work will see the current supply main running through the village, which is prone to bursts, replaced with new plastic pipes within both private land and the Cary Road between July and November 2026. The sewer lining work would also take place along sections of the Cary Road during July and August.
Our supply and sewer rehabilitation teams have been working closely together to ensure these projects can take place concurrently, reducing overall time to help limit disruption for local customers and businesses wherever possible
Signposted diversions would be in place. Access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and refuse collections during the closure, although the diversion route may need to be used at times and our on-site team will work with customers with regard to any specific access requirements.
While there may be some noise while we carry out the work, every effort will be made to keep this to a minimum.
Local water supply and sewerage services can be used as normal unless we advise otherwise.
We understand the impact this essential work will have on the village of North Cadbury and surrounding areas and will be holding a community drop-in session for local customers to meet our project team, obtain more information about the work and ask any questions they may have.
This session will take place at the Village Hall, High St, North Cadbury, Yeovil, BA22 7DP, on Thursday, 4 June 2026 between 3-7pm and we will be happy to meet with you and answer any questions you may have.
