IGRS 90th Anniversary Lecture Event
PRONI, Belfast on Thursday, 11 June, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
This free, in-person event is open to everyone, whether a member of the Society or not, who has an interest in genealogy, family history, and Irish history, so please do tell your family, friends and colleagues about it. It promises to be an engaging evening, featuring two distinguished speakers exploring different aspects of early modern migration:
Dr William Roulston, Research Director of the Ulster Historical Foundation, will discuss Scottish migration to Ireland in the seventeenth century, examining its impact well beyond Ulster.
Professor Marian Lyons of Maynooth University will explore the fascinating story of Irish merchants in France from the 1630s through to the eve of the French Revolution.
These talks offer a wonderful opportunity to hear leading historians share fresh insights into subjects that will appeal to genealogists and anyone interested in Ireland’s past.
Attendance is free, and tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided. All that’s required is advance registration.

This is an in-person event to be held in the seminar room at the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, Titanic Boulevard, Belfast. Booking is free of charge and open to all (subject to capacity of venue).
