👮 Neighbourhood Policing Week

Another part of Neighbourhood policing is the planning, coordinating and delivering of police cadets. Our police cadets meet weekly in term time in Newtown and are between 13-17 years old. Young people do not have to want to join the police but may be interested in meeting new people, taking part in fun activities and would like to gain an insight into policing.

Our Cadets volunteer at local events and you may have seen them at Newtown Carnival. They enjoy volunteering and supporting with events and you will see them at Llanidloes Carnival, Royal Welsh Show and at our very own police station Open Day on 12th August!

This year so far they have had inputs with Traffic officers, Detectives, Dog Handlers, Custody Sergeants to name a few and are looking forward to their inputs with Public Order trained officers and the local Magistrates in the next couple of weeks.

Last night Cadet Leaders PS Buckley, PCSO Ross and Yasmin covered Water Safety. The cadets really enjoyed the session. If you know of anyone who may be interested in joining you can find out more about cadets and how to apply using the link below!
