Newton Mearns Community First Responders

Newton Mearns Community First Responders Email : [email protected] Community First Responders are made up of volunteers who respond in their spare time.

They have been trained by the Scottish Ambulance Service and given an AED (automated external defibrillator) along with other medical equipment in order to implement emergency care outside of hospital. CFR’s are dispatched at the same time as an ambulance in rural areas, or areas where an ambulance is unlikely to reach within the targeted time of 8 minutes.

Is your defib emergency ready?

Less than 1 in 10 people survive an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest in the UK.

By registering and regularly recording your defib checks on The Circuit, you give ambulance services the confidence that it’s ready to save a life.

Make sure it is on the map, register on The Circuit website here 👉

The Circuit maps defibrillators across the UK. It ensures that emergency service can find the nearest public defibrillator if someone is in cardiac arrest.
