Acknowledgement from the family of the late Donal Byrne - R.I.P.

We, the family of the late Donal Byrne, wish to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness and support shown to us during our recent bereavement.

We are deeply grateful to our family, friends and neighbours for their help and support during this very difficult time.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the wake and funeral, called to the house, sent Mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers and messages of condolence.

Thank you to our family and friends who brought food to the house.

A special word of thanks to Fr Naughton for celebrating the Requiem Mass and to the Meigh Chapel sacristans for all their help. Thank you to Ellen Maguire and Kevy Canavan for the beautiful music and singing.

We are especially grateful to the doctors, nurses and staff at Ramone Building, Craigavon Area Hospital for all their care and attention to Donal. A word of thanks to Dr Giby Vettiankel and staff at Meigh Surgery and all the team at Meigh Pharmacy.

We also wish to thank the Flagstaff Lodge for the lovely meal following the funeral.

Our sincere thanks to McGennity Funeral Directors for their care, kindness and support throughout the whole wake and funeral.

A big thank you to all those who donated to NI Chest, Heart and Stroke Association, the amount raised was £200.

Donal’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 28th June 2026 at 10am in St. Joseph’s church, Meigh.

Deeply missed, remembered and forever loved by his heartbroken family and friends.

Galbraith, Elaine (née McGuinness) - R.I.P. Simyerols, France and formerly of 28 Camlough Road, Newry. 16th June 2026, peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of Nick, adored mother of Madeline and Alastair, beloved daughter of Molly and the late Arthur McGuinness, cherished sister of Artie (Patricia), Kieran, Collette (Gerry), and Dermott.

Funeral will take place in Souillac, France on Friday 26th June 2026.

Funeral notice for the late Ethna McCormick - R.I.P.

McCormick, Ethna (Newry) – R.I.P. 19th June 2026, peacefully at home. Beloved and devoted wife of her late husband Seamus, and adored mother of Seamus, Thomas, Helena, Mark, Michael, Gerard, Sinead, John, Martin and Ann. Dear mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law and aunt.

Ethna’s remains will repose at McGennity’s Funeral Home, 18 Forkhill Road, Newry tomorrow (Saturday 20th June) from 1pm until removal at 1.30pm to her late residence, 61 Parkview, Cloughoge where she will repose from 2pm-9pm and from 12-5.30pm on Sunday. Removal on Sunday at 5.30pm from the family home, arriving to the Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloughoge at 6pm for overnight repose.

Requiem mass on Monday 22nd June at 12pm, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on her soul.

Deeply regretted by her sorrowing children and entire family circle.

We, the family of the late Sally McKeown wish to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness and support shown to us during our recent bereavement. We are deeply thankful to our family, friends and neighbours for their help and support during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended the wake and the funeral, sent mass cards, sympathy cards, flowers and messages of condolence.

A special thank you to the staff of Corn Market Surgery and Daisy Hill Hospital (A&E and Acute Medical Unit) your attention and compassion towards mummy was deeply appreciated. Also thanks to the staff of McKeevers Chemist, Monaghan Street Newry.

A very special thanks to mummy’s sister, Rosaleen, nieces and nephews for all their support during Sallys time in hospital, at the wake and the funeral. We will forever be grateful for the love and support they showed us during this difficult time.

A special word of thanks for Father Emanuel for celebrating the requiem mass and to Doreen Finnegan and Sally’s granddaughter, Sarah Coulter, for the beautiful music and singing.

Funeral notice for the late Margaret (Peggy) McKee - R. I.P.

McKee (née Mackin), Margaret (Peggy)- R.I.P. Retired District Nurse. Formerly of Doran’s Hill, Newry. 14th June 2026, peacefully in the tender care of the nursing staff at Avila Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Seamus McKee, cherished mother of Margaret, James and Mary, devoted granny of Sarah, Jenny, Jane, Emma and Elizabeth; predeceased by her siblings Peter-John, Helen and Christy.

Peggy’s remains will repose at 8 Forest Hills, Old Warrenpoint Road, Newry. The house is private this evening please. All are welcome to visit to pay their respects on Monday and Tuesday between 1pm and 9pm each day. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (17th June) at 12.30pm in St. Catherine’s church, Dominic Street, Newry. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s cemetery.

Mullen, Patrick - R.I.P. 65 Newtown Road, Killean. 10th June 2026, peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Patricia, loving father of Gillian (Gary), Declan (Susan), Barry (Aislinn) and Edel (Barry); proud grandfather of Oisin, Katelyn, Kara, Sean, Mark, Christopher, Thomas, Alana, Treasa, Caolan and the late Barry Óg; dearly loved brother of Teresa, Davy, Eddie Mullen, Bernie McGivern, Patricia McGrath, Michael Mullen and the late Kathleen O’Hare.

Patrick’s remains are reposing at his late residence until removal on Saturday morning (13th June) at 11am, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon in St. Michael’s church, Killean. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. House private on Saturday morning please.

Funeral notice for the late Niall McGuinness - R.I.P.

McGuinness, Niall (Nig) - R.I.P. 27 Ardaveen Park, Bessbrook. 8th June 2026, at his residence. Loving father of Sarah Louise and Natasha Evelyn, Granda of Elsie and Reuben, stepfather of Stacey and Michaela, son of the late Eymard and Evelyn McGuinness, brother of Kieran, Seamus, Julie, Anne, Deirdre and the late Eymard Junior and Evelyn McParland.

Niall’s remains will repose at his home today (Tuesday 9th June) from 3.30pm until 9pm. Cremation service will take place tomorrow (Wednesday 10th June) at 1.30pm in Dardistown Crematorium, Collinstown Cross, Old Airport Road, Cloghran, Co. Dublin K67 HP26.

Very deeply regretted by his entire family circle and friends.

We, the family of the late Seamus Hollywood, wish to express our sincere gratitude for the kindness and support shown to us during our recent bereavement.

We are deeply grateful to our family, friends and neighbours for their help and support during this very difficult time.
