Last week marked an incredible 20 years of service at Cornwall Air Ambulance for Mick McLachlan.
Mick joined the ambulance service in Cornwall (SWAST) in June 2002 after serving 11 years with the London Ambulance Service.
He became a full-time member of your crew in May 2006 and as a Specialist Critical Care Paramedic, has attended thousands of missions across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
As well as providing critical care in the region, Mick also holds the role of Deputy Air Operations Officer at our base in Newquay.
Steve Garvey, Air Operations Officer, said: "It has been, and continues to be, a huge honour to work alongside Mick and this moment is a real testament to his dedication, skill and passion as a Critical Care Paramedic.
"In addition to providing outstanding care to our patients, Mick also assists in every aspect of running the airbase and plays an integral part in ensuring our operations run as smoothly as possible."
Mick said: "20 years in and it’s still such a fantastic job being a part of the Cornwall Air Ambulance crew. From one day to the next, you never know what you’re going to be doing, where you’re going to be or who you’re going to meet. It’s an incredibly satisfying role.”
On behalf of everyone at Cornwall Air Ambulance, congratulations Mick for reaching this amazing milestone in your career and thank you for all you do.
